Munich, January 18th 2024 – Michael Bully Herbig and Constantin Film are delighted to announce the sequel to Der Schuh des Manitu, one of the most successful German films of all time.
Based on sketches from the comedy show “bullyparade”, Bully created the film “Der Schuh des Manitu” in 2001, a parody of the Winnetou films of the 1960s, which then became the most successful German film of all times with almost 12 million moviegoers. The tongue-in-cheek homage to Winnetou & Co. captivates with its ambiguous dialogues, perfectly timed slapstick and a fantastic cast.
Das Kanu des Manitu is due to be released in cinemas in 2025. Once again, Michael Bully Herbig will be seated in the director’s chair and is producing the sequel. TV giant RTL is on board for a “Bully movie” for the first time. Shooting will begin this year based on a screenplay by Michael Bully Herbig, Christian Tramitz and Rick Kavanian.
Further details will be announced in the coming months. So much can be revealed for now: Abahachi, Ranger and Dimitri are getting some serious reinforcements!
